CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS A magical ice palace was built for Bonhomme, the Carnival's guest of honour, for the first time in Jacques-Cartier Square in 1955. The impressive ice construction even had a dungeon, used to jokingly jail carnival-goers who refused to honour Bonhomme's effigy. From 1956 to 1972, Bonhomme's palace was located at Place D'Youville Crowds gathered to dance and celebrate, F�erie Depuis pr�s d'un demi-si�cle, le Carnaval de Qu�bec enchante nos hivers. � chaque ann�e les habitants de la ville retrouvent la f�erie des festivit�s et les visiteurs la d�couvrent... Pour loger l'invit� de marque qu'est Bonhomme, on lui construit un premier palais au Carr� Jacques-Cartier en 1955. L'imposante construction de glace comptait un donjon, utilis� pour enfermer, le temps d'une plaisanterie, les carnavaleux qui n'arboraient pas l'effigie de Bonhomme.
